VSARDS

VSards is an asymmetrical local hotseat 2D game, developed as our first vertical slice. It is by no means perfect, but it showcases our concept and mechanics.

In VSards, two players take control of wizards locked in an endless battle—one as the Water Wizard, the other as the Fire Wizard. Each wizard moves within a confined arena, using both basic and special attacks to defeat their opponent.

Gameplay

Each wizard has a standard projectile attack that fires in the direction they are facing. Players can also aim directly at their opponent by holding a specific button, though this reduces their movement speed.

A match consists of up to three rounds, with victory going to the first player to win two rounds. Each round lasts a maximum of two minutes, and both players start with 100 health points. When a player's health reaches zero, they are eliminated, and their opponent is declared the winner.

Development Note

We had approximately one month to complete this project for our exam, and despite its unfinished state, we received top grades. As you’ll notice, there are areas that could be improved, but this version serves as a strong foundation for what we set out to create.
